But then it equivocates: \u201cespecially as differentiated by social and cultural roles and behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-864f2d263211af28083c7986b2a54ab7\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Such vacillation has become common in our politically correct culture. In a <em>Psychology Today<\/em> article titled \u201cSex, Gender, Roles, Identities, and Orientations,\u201d author Amanda Rose states, \u201cHowever, for transgender individuals, their gender identity does not match their biological sex. When we say \u2018transgender male\u2019 or \u2018transgender female,\u2019 male or female refers to their gender identity rather than their biological sex.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.help4families.org\/help4families-blog\/2021\/11\/6\/the-facts-about-gender#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3eda9a60ab49e1e6071fbd29bfcf4a55\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">In 1828, Webster made no distinction between the terms <em>sex <\/em>and <em>gender<\/em>. Now the term <em>sex<\/em> refers to one\u2019s biological constitution while <em>gender<\/em> refers to one\u2019s perception of himself or herself\u2014or even itself, because some medical professionals tell us a person can fluctuate between the two gender identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-96a669c2e89a1c299b721b37ddea7268\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Can created beings change the nature of their creation by changing the definitions of words and then willing the change to be so? Suppose I expand the definition of an Olympic 100-meter sprint champion from \u201cthe winner of the final 100-meter sprint in an officially sanctioned world Olympic Games\u201d to include \u201cand also a grandmother who believes she is an Olympic sprint champion.\u201d Should the Olympic committee grant the grandmother an Olympic gold medal? No. But what if she sincerely believes she is an Olympic sprint champion? Still no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading proxima-font\" style=\"font-size:22px\">YOU CANNOT BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-acda5fb62c583d4b93aad6cb5a5144bd\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Here\u2019s a declaration so common that we tend to gloss over its impudence: \u201cYou can be (or do) whatever you want to be (or do); just believe in yourself.\u201d What if I want to be a starting center in the NBA? No matter how intensely I believe in myself, I will never grow into a strong, athletic, seven-foot-tall man with impeccable shot-blocking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4a45cc65156ae6d283db003d3819f9ee\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Yes, anyone can improve his or her physical and\/or mental abilities through dedicated practice, but only within certain built-in limitations. Had I desired to become a track star, with enough effort and practice, I might have made my high school track team. I may have even been a star on the team. But the odds of my making the US Olympic track team would have been astronomical. And becoming an NBA center was, is, and always will be <em>impossible <\/em>for me. <em>Nothing <\/em>can change that. I can tell myself I\u2019m a seven-foot-tall NBA center. I can tell everyone I meet I\u2019m a seven-foot-tall NBA center. I can officially list my occupation as NBA center. But no amount of belief in myself will change who I am: a grandma who is not quite five- and-a-half-feet tall and wouldn\u2019t last two minutes in a NBA game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ac339a02ae824b6df132e07183df9c3e\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Dr. Ryan T. Anderson asks the following obvious but culturally unacceptable questions: (1) If those who identify as transgender are the sex with which they identify, why doesn\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-67043cd2d2ce1edfc2b971b43ddd4363\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">that apply to other attributes or categories of being? (2) What about people who identify as animals, or able-bodied people who identify as disabled? (3) Do all of these self-professed identities determine reality? If not, why not?<a href=\"https:\/\/www.help4families.org\/help4families-blog\/2021\/11\/6\/the-facts-about-gender#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-aee3e58c9c63d4ef21c3b4cefba2dffc\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">The Bible says, \u201c[God] created them male and female. He blessed them and called them humans when he created them\u201d (Genesis 5:2).
