For a time, Satan stole that identity from him. But Job\u2019s identity\u2014and his wealth\u2014was restored when he came to fully understand God\u2019s identity as the sovereign creator and judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg blog-link has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d9c8c09d99e525c5c4c5a8f113cc9391\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">But something much bigger was going on in Satan\u2019s attack on Job. Satan was actually attacking God. Essentially, Satan accused God of bribing people to obey and follow Him<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg blog-link has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-555bd7b0f8c4bd76b88ad4c3f2da2110\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Satan often still does the same thing when he attacks us\u2014he attacks God through us. When we think of an enemy, we often look at another person. But remember, our spiritual enemy, Satan, seeks to destroy everyone in his path. We can be blindsided by this spiritual enemy and forget that it\u2019s not only us and our family he\u2019s attacking, but also God\u2014the God in whom, ultimately, we have our identity. If we lose sight of God\u2019s identity as the creator and as the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong, then we also lose sight of our own identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg blog-link has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-487dc12c01f21642d0e33d742d4af7a0\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Like Job, I hadn\u2019t committed any particular sin to bring trials into my life. But in this fallen world, trials abound, enough to inflict everyone. Add to that the trials brought on by my dad\u2019s pursuit of his illicit desires, and my family faced some tremendous difficulties. And those trials could be traced back further still, to grandparents and great-grandparents. Anyway, because of all that, my dad found a false identity in a dark place, and that false identity then pulsed out and damaged many of those around him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"adobe-reg blog-link has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-685587c672249eeee7d5d91fb7905968\" style=\"color:#1a1a1ab3;font-size:18px;letter-spacing:0px\">Maybe you\u2019re in a similar situation. Your difficulties may also result from someone else\u2019s poor choices.
