I have often heard men confess that they have thoughts that something was wrong with them, that they should have been born female. If they hear the thoughts and whispers often enough, they begin to believe them, especially when the lies have haunted them since their childhood. Consider this: When an adult male says he remembered \u201cfeeling this way\u201d\u2014that he was supposed to have been born female\u2014since he was young, he might be telling the truth. He might not remember a time when he did not feel \u201cthis way.\u201d That doesn\u2019t mean, however, he was born that way. It likely means that he\u2019s heard the thoughts and suggestions for as long as he can remember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joseph Goebbels, said, \u201cIf you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.\u201d If a male repeatedly hears the lie that he was meant to be a woman, eventually he will believe it\u2014and be likely to act on it. The same is true of a female who repeatedly hears\u2014in her thoughts or from others\u2014that she was meant to be a man. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Some men are running from feelings of depression, relational problems, drug or alcohol addictions, suicidal tendencies, and other psychotic issues. These men are abandoning their masculinity and their traditional role because they are weary from battling their thought life and society\u2019s celebration of non-traditional attitudes and behaviors. Some really don\u2019t understand why they struggle with thoughts that encourage them to make decisions that dramatically alter their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Leonard\u2019s impulses to cross dress and fantasies of becoming a woman have become problematic for him.
