\u201cLoneliness rate edges up to 20%, highest level since the Covid-19 pandemic,\u201d an October 2024 Gallup poll<\/a> reported. That means one in five people battle this affliction. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one because they decided to pursue an LGBT lifestyle, you are one of those sufferers. You may agree with those polled<\/a> who said they felt lonely \u201ca lot of the day yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have I poked an open wound? Then let me offer you some first-aid: you may be lonely, but you are not alone. How can I say that? Because God the Father said, \u201cNever will I leave you; never will I forsake you\u201d (Hebrews 13:5). Because Jesus said, \u201cAnd surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age\u201d (Matthew 28:20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are so vulnerable to Satan\u2019s attacks when we are lonely. That\u2019s when he loves to whisper lies like these: \u201cNobody cares about you\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019ve got nothing to live for\u201d and \u201cGod has abandoned you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been there. I\u2019ve had those days when I did not want to get out of bed. Days when I cried out to God, \u201cHelp me put my feet on the floor and take one step.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because he is always with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he is always with you too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When loneliness descends on you like a thick blanket, cry out to God. Ask him to assure you of his presence. Read the promises given in Hebrews 13:5 and Matthew 28:20 aloud. Post them where you will see them often. Memorize them so you can quote them when you\u2019re wide awake in the wee hours of the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although God\u2019s presence and promises are the most effective weapons against loneliness, here are some practical ways to combat loneliness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
