My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me
If we’re honest, we sometimes find ourselves merely contemplating our circumstances, but not truly submitting them to God. Instead, when we feel overwhelmed by life, we may be tempted to doubt God will really show up for us. Because of this mistrust, we attempt to control situations and manipulate people – this becomes our modus operandi. We expend a lot of energy thinking of a way to fix the “problem.” In our minds, we can justify taking matters into our own hands because we wrongly conclude God has forgotten about us or doesn’t care.
But truly…brooding over our situations is not the same as faithfully praying through them. At Living Stones Ministries, we encourage you to maintain an open, honest dialogue with the LORD. Talk to Him about your circumstances and relationships. Admit your doubts. Confess your failures. Allow yourself to develop an “into- me-see” (intimacy) that develops from on-going, candid conversations with Him. He is a good, good Father who wants to hear His child’s voice.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.
By becoming more “real” with God, you will find God revealing more of Himself to you. Trust the Scriptures to always declare the truth, as you listen for the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart and mind. Even as God wants to hear your voice, He wants you to hear His voice, too!
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27.
