Does God want you stay in your grief?
Does God want you stay in your grief? When you hear the words of a loved one identifying at gay or transgender, your heart sinks and grief appears to be overwhelming. I was reminded of this while listening inventively to family members who recently came into the office, and looked for someone to understand the grief they are experiencing at this time.
Job feels like his only hope in the midst of the council he has received is to have a personal audience with God. Job looked for some relief with the sadness and the extreme loss he was in the midst of experiencing. He seeks six different concepts about God. –9-11) God is wise and way beyond us, or the grief felt. God is incredible, does great things. He seals off the stars, and he does great things.
Job knows the God he is having to experience the pain, the losses and physical conditions because God has allowed it. Job sees God as incredible, invincible and how could he go against God no matter the pain that has been inflicted upon him. He knew he was small compared to God.
Job couldn’t dispute with God, “Because of who He is, how could he reason or answer Him” Even if God did speak to Job, he didn’t believe that God would actually listen to him. “who is going to appoint my day in court”-if I could get into your courtroom, who’s going to set this up for little old me.
All the stuff that is happening to me, my friends have the wrong opinion of me.
Job can’t get to God in his own strength. “For God is not a man as I am, nor is there any mediator between us. He is now caught in his own dilemma. The fundamental necessity was to get to God. If only there was someone somewhere that could get me to God. Job questions if God is really for him. If it’s not God allowing this ‘stuff’ to happen to, who else could it be? Job admits he could not delay God, he has not control to stop the events happening that has brought suffering ..
The appalling greatness of God, and his apparent smallness and overwhelmed that he could not get to God for him. God to me and me to God. Job is crying out for someone to make a meeting reality. Job was accurate when saying God is not a man like I am, but one day in the heavens, God said I will send my own son. God in a body and in His flesh he will be God relating to man to bridge a gap
When God sent his son, Jesus Christ into the world, God sent us a mediator. The cry of our own hearts to reach God is possible today, because of Jesus Christ being our mediator. When we go to Him with our prayers, Jesus Christ is our mediator to take your requests to God for you.
No matter where you are today, no matter how helpless you feel in your situation, have faith that your prayer request are delivered to the throne of God by your mediator, Jesus Christ. The next time you look at the cross, look at the bottom of the cross where often find ourselves. The top of the cross is pointed to the heavens, representing with your prayer request are received.
