He Created Them
The Bible tells us God created the world and everything in it, including humans; the Bible reveals both human sin and every person’s need of a savior from sin. The Bible also plainly states God created just two genders: “When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them” (Genesis 5:1-2).
When a person claims to be of a third gender (or of the gender opposite of his or her birth), then we can be certain that demonic forces are behind that person’s confusion. Those demonic forces are attempting to discredit God by discrediting and confounding the genders He created.
Satan led a rebellion that encompassed one third of the angels. Satan, who was created as one of the highest angelic beings (Ezekiel 28:12-17), wasn’t satisfied with his lofty position. He wanted more; he wanted to be God. So he and his many angelic followers rebelled against their creator. God cast the rebels from heaven, and the rebels have been trying to thwart God ever since. Ultimately, Satan wants to harm God, but doing that directly isn’t possible. Instead, Satan seeks to harm God by harming the highest of God’s earthly creations—humans. And, again, the most perverse way he can do that is to muddle the most basic aspect of God’s creation of humans: “Male and female He created them.”
Through Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, God defeated Satan’s attempts to keep humans separated from their creator. Jesus’s death made it possible for sinners to have a relationship with their God. But Satan still tries to block that relationship by stealing our identity as God’s adopted children.
We don’t have to be stopped by that barrier. The apostle Paul wrote, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:11).
When we arm ourselves with God’s truth, righteousness, peace, and faith, we can stand firm for ourselves and our loved ones (Ephesians 6:13-17). We also can “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (verse 18). These spiritual weapons help us thwart Satan’s attempts to rob us and others of their God-given identity.
